From Dreamer to Aerial Artist: Marci’s Story
Certified aerial instructor, bodyworker, and lifelong movement enthusiast on a mission to help every body fly!
How I Discovered That Every Body Can Fly
I've been obsessed with movement my entire life. Fifteen years as a figure skater. Seven years of salsa dancing. Decades as a mind body teacher. But it wasn't until I discovered aerial arts that everything clicked.
The first time I wrapped myself in an aerial sling? Pure, unfiltered joy. Flying wasn't just physical—it was magic.
But here's the thing: when I started learning, I struggled. Steps were skipped. Complex moves were thrown at me way too early. I'd scroll Instagram and think, "How will I EVER do that?" I couldn't find a solid path forward—just scattered tricks and flashy demos that left me more confused than inspired. I kept saying, “I kept thinking, 'I've been an athlete my whole life—why can't I do this?'”
That's when it hit me: What's missing isn't talent. It's a roadmap.
So I built one. A program that doesn't skip steps. That teaches you how to activate your body before you move it. That celebrates real bodies, real struggles, and real wins. One that makes aerial practice accessible to everyone - and in a shorter period of time.
That's how Aerial Foundations was born.
Strength Isn't Just About Muscle Power—It's About Knowing How to Use It
Early in my teaching, I kept hearing the same thing from new students before they even started: "I'm not strong enough. I’m not flexible." But when I watched students struggle, I could see the real issue—they weren't activating the right muscles before attempting the move. They were trying to force moves instead of flowing with them.
So I flipped the script. Before every move, I'd guide students through a simple sequence: activate your body ~ shoulders down, pelvis tucked and explain whatever muscles they needed to use for that exact move. And suddenly? Moves that felt impossible became "Wait, I just did that?!"
That's the Activation Method. It's about engaging your body intentionally so you build real strength, avoid injury, and progress faster. No guessing. No frustration. Just results.

WHY I DO THIS WORK
Every Body Deserves to Fly
I believe that our dreams are the roadmap to the life we're meant to live. That dream of learning aerial? It changed my life in the most dramatic, beautiful way—and I want to share that magic with you.
I created Aerial Foundations to build a space where real people—with real bodies, real challenges, and real lives—could discover what they're capable of. A space where you don't have to be perfect to start. Where you're celebrated for showing up, trying, and making progress—no matter how small.
Because aerial practice isn't just about nailing tricks. It's about discovering your strength. Building unshakable confidence. And realizing you're capable of so much more than you ever imagined.
That's what I want for you. And that's why I wake up excited to do this work every single day.
WHEN I'M NOT TEACHING
You'll find me figure skating (still my first love), lifting heavy things, white water kayaking, skiing, hiking with my partner, cuddling my very cute kitties, and tinkering with my aerial rig. Most mornings start with a great cup of coffee and a good book. (And yes, I burn dinner—thank goodness my partner's a cook!)
What I most want you to know
Your age doesn’t matter. Your fitness level can change. You won’t be a member who buys this program and is left to figure it all out alone. I care about you; how you progress; how this can change your life; and I promise to cheer you on all along the way. Because my greatest joy is seeing my students find out that they are so incredible at this!
